Flowmaster vs. Magnaflow

I just bought a 2006 F-150 Lariat and am looking to upgrade the exhaust system. I thinking of either a Mangaflow or Flowmaster dual exhaust system. Both have lifetime warranties. The Flowmaster is a couple hundred dollars cheaper. Anyone out there have experience with these systems? Any guidance?

Flowmaster-Sound
Magnaflow-Sound & Good performance gain
You Choose????
But have a custom shop do your setup, buy the mufflers and tips you want and then have them do it you will save $$$ over a full catback.

fuel economy

Do you know if the peformance gain of the mangnaflow affects fuel economy drastically? I'm about to pick up a longer commute to work.

x100... I LOVE the way my Flowmasters sound. I really have no clue as to which is better, Flowmaster or Magnaflow. I have been happy with the sound on all the vehicles that I have put Flowmasters though.

the charts show like 4-6 hp and ft lbs difference, IMO flowmasters sound much better

borla xs outperform most mufflers

I'm using your word "upgrade" as having true meaning in what you want to accomplish.

Go to the Troyer performance website. Check out the info and configurations.

Borla Mufflers are producing the best numbers and NO one constructs one better - their quality rules hands down.. Magnaflow or Borla/Roush will be an upgrade.

For sound - Just use YouTube and type in what you want to hear, there's plenty of sound clips out there.

Flowmaster will probably be louder, if that's what you want. And there's a reason they cost less than Magnaflow or any other quality, straight-though design.

Flow are baffled in a way to produce louder sounds, you'll probably actually lose a bit of mpg, not to mention some torque. They're also made of cheaper material (aluminized steel) than other stainless-steel systems. So if rusting could be an issue then there's that.

I'd rather keep the stock exhuast than spend any money on a Flowmaster.

Any Magnaflow, Borla, Corsa, etc., will not only sound excellent but should also gain you a couple mpg.

Putting on a Borla SI/SO was the first mod I made and my highway mpg went from about 16.5 to 18.3..

I get about 19.5 highway now but that's after adding an intake kit and custom tunes. So just adding a straight-through cat-back made the most difference in mpg for me, not to mention the growl and howl..

Roush beats them all. Sound is amazing and it will never rust like Flowmaster or Magnaflow. Top quality.

Where does the Magnaflow rust? It's a full stainless system.

Since it was mentioned here's the Roush sitting inside on the 4.6 (couldn't seem to find any with the 5.4).

Roush and Borla are one in the same - Borla makes the muffler for Roush.
