Heat up axle dumped exhaust

I am deciding how to dump my exhaust. Right now I just have the connector pipe coming out or my y-pipe. I heard a couple times, and it makes common sense to me, that if the exhaust should be ran over the axle or else it will "cook" the fluid in the rear axle and differential. Also running the pipe over the axle should reduce the cab drone a bit.

I think I am going to have the shop run my pipe over the axle with a turn down. But I want to see if the can make the turndown with a larger tip in an attempt to create a lower tone.

Any thoughts? Thanks

I had mine dumped right behind the cab pointing right at the axel and never had any problems.

wont hurt a thing, just makes the "in cab" drone worse.
