I'll ask again..

Do any of you think stock Mustang GT mufflers off an 01 or 02 would sound good on a 5.4 ?

I personally wouldn't waste my time with them, just get a magnaflow and be done with it.

It's a Roush (Borla) exhaust, so yeah it oughta sound pretty sweet.

It could, I thought the mufflers on the Cobras are Borlas, and GT mufflers are Ford. I would get aftermarket universals personally, but if they are Borla built, go for it.

Well you can get the mufflers from a junk yard fairly cheap. Not to mention if you want to e cheap you could just replace your stock muffler utilizing the same pipe, or get custom piping.

I love the sound of the stock mufflers from the 00'01s etc. Just need to get right pipes/

If your wanting the sound from the GT, good luck, my 6th exhaust system will be my last attempt to get that sound. But, a good set of performance mufflers will do you better, unless you just have to have those mufflers.

Yea I know, but I have an x, but the intake and manifolds really make a difference, as well as the setup of the 4 converters our trucks get.

Markings?

The 'stangs use an H because the gas tank is in the rear by going the way of the trunk. Our gas tank is harder to get around.

Could Also do a modified Y pipe. Could do all sorts of modified configs depending on where you exit. However, I think for a cheap exhaust from a wreck junk yard stang, you cant go wrong.

There are a few junk yards you pay like 75$ you can get anything you want as long as you use your own tools and do all the labor.

Any exhaust freaks know of a good config or have done this before, PM me. Appreciate all the help guys. No doubt.

One question..I'm stationed in KS, and my dad is going to look in the junk yards for the exhaust. He asked me, how can he tell they are stock gt exhaust? I guess what I'm saying is are there any markings known on stock 00-04 gt exhaust? I dont want to find a stang and my dad get them and they be slow masters or cherry lamers or something like.

Again... Thanks guys!

Are you just wanting the mufflers? What setup are you looking to run? Here is what the stockers look like:

Yes. The mufflers without all the pipes. I will get custom piping from the headers back. I want true duals. I don't know very much on what I can get as far as an X-PIPE etc. I do know I want dual from headers out. I'll confirm with whoever sets up my exhaust what my options are.

I mean if you guys have any saleen exhaust or roush or anything just laying around I'll take that. Other wise I'm with the stock GT's.

I am also on a limited budget. Hence why I am looking in a junkyard. I just had a little girl and my wife thinks I make 5 bucks a year or something. I make more than any of my parents ever did. Being female and the queen, I find it hard to buy a coke at the shopette let alone an exhaust system!

I will also upgrade my intake. Not junkyard heh.

!!True duals...
