birddog, truck sounds mean as hell... any pics of the exhaust from under the truck...im trying to figure out how to work an x pipe into my exhaust system and cant seem to visualize where on earth it would go. ive got all stock cats in place going to a SIDO flowmaster 40, with tips 45'd out behind the rear tires. used to have a y-pipe in place of the flowmaster with the tips in the same place and it was way louder and i think sounded much better. I want to go back to no muffler only with an x-pipe this time and not sure how i can make that work while still keeping the stock cats in place

josh are u running the stock cats? trying to sort thru your sig to see exactly what your setup consists of but not really getting it.. i see you have a magnaflow x-pipe which i want. but i dont want to run any mufflers. and i dont want to lose any cats as of this point, nor do i want to swap into high flows just yet

I just today cut off the true duals with no mufflers and an x-pipe. I put a maggie x and two 14" magnapacks on it. I loved the sound of the old setup, but love the torque I gained from the mufflers. I still have all 4 factory cats and they are intact. My first video in the sig is the maggie x and magnapacks with 3.5" tips, and the bottom two are the x pipe no mufflers and 4" tips.

I can def. "feel" the torque, I knew it as soon as I pulled out and lightly got onto the throttle, the 265's started to break loose and continued to chirp till I let off. And I live up a 8% grade, its about a 1.5 mile pull, it held 70 all the way up it in 3rd with the converter locked, after the 265's it was doing good to hold 65 in 3rd, so it was a big suprise it climbed as well. Just wish it had that awesome sound the straights did, but it will get a little louder with time.

Well the high flows or eliminating the two large cats will increase the sound, It will get a little louder once the maggies "break in" but for the most part mine is as loud as possible. I wish I would have waited for the 4" tips, as that helps the rumble as well, but the torque and sound are connected. A flowbastard would prob. rumble a little more, but you would loose the torque there as well.

see i traded in my straight pipes for a 40 series flowmaster (saw a possible increase in torque, but sortof misleading because I have a nasty exhaust leak off the passenger manifold). Sound is far too quiet now, its lost its mean sound and its really upsetting. What diameter pipe are you running? Would running a smaller diameter pipe boost the torque any? I will have to measure my tips to see what their size is

I'm running 2.5", some claim that 2.25" *feels* like it has more torque than the 2.5", but I like my 2.5"
