do straights hurt your truck??
i bought my truck with straight pipes. it was obviously done by a professional shop because its new piping from where the cats were all the way back. new hangers and everything.. i love the sound myself, but it is REALLY loud. Is this setup hurting my performance or the motor itself? if so, what is an exhaust with the most sound and performance for my truck? 06 FX4

another thing that has been happening in the past 2 weeks or so.. when i floor the truck off the line, or on the go, and it downshifts to 1st or 2nd gear (depending on the speed im going), it pulls hard till i hit the upper RPM's (not redlining tho) and then it acts like i just hit the governed speed of 100 and the exhaust starts popping and sputtering. but when i ease off the throttle a bit, it pulls hard again and the exhaust mellows and smooths out until it pops back into the next gear. then all back to normal... whats going on with that?

Sounds normal. You do have a bit of lost torque with straights so it will pop like crazy and climb the speedo slowly. The OEM tune shifts it the way its supposed to, the straights dont always wanna agree with it though. But flooring it its natural to downshift because it gets a better grip on the gears, that way it wont stall and it will move quicker.
