just purchased an 06 F150 and noticed immediately how much help the motor needed. I was wondering if the aftermarket mustang throttle body with 2 62mm venturis work with my motor or would i be better of purchasing a single 75mm venturi throttle body?

 

What mods do you have currently?

 

Its bone stock right now, but i plan on buying a tuner, headers, and a k&n intake to start out with. thats why I was asking which would be better

 

so you have a 3 valve 4.6 in your F-150?

anyway, you have to get the parts for your truck as the mustang has a 3 valve and a different intake manifold and the mustang throttle body will not interchange. Also if you get a larger throttle body then you will need to port and polish your throttle body elbow.


you need to stick to the basics unless you want to go all out right away: CAI, underdrive pulleys, long tube headers, high flow cats, cat back exhaust, E-fans and a tuner.

larger injectors, cams, throttle body should come later on.

 

Easy man, give the new guy a break. He may be new to this.

 

Incidentally,
I have an 08 4.6 and have added the S&B intake, and some other mods. It doesn't take much to wake the 4.6 but your money is better spent on other items unless your going to work beyond the TB. If your not going all out as previously mentioned, go onto other mods and leave the TB.

 

an afternarket throttle body = a nice paper weight. dont waste your money!

 

Wrong. The paper weight is the throttle body spacer, not the throttle body itself.
