A week, i have a tuner also. No probs at all,
no cabin noise unless wide open throttle, then it sounds like a 4 barrel carb. I love it, so far i'm getting 2 mpg better with tune on 87 performance
and air intake.

ur mpg went up because you are running lean? What tuner do you have?

I understand everyone's panacking about running lean, but you are failing to realize the 3 valve motors have the lean issue, that intake will not make a 2 valve 4.6 run lean

that's the best intake avaiable on ebay for the $$$ faster150 has been running one for years without issues.

I'd consider the rubbermaid trashcan heat shield for it but that's on you, I think it's good on your truck

Motor running like a champ!

I ran the air intake for about 4 days without the tuner and it never give me a cel, so after i got the superchips tuner 1715 off of ebay to for 148.00 shipped instead of $379.00 i installed a 87 perfomance tune, shifts strong now, no lag, no speed limiter
i have a garmin gps, my speedo stops at 100mph, i have already seen 129 mph on the garmin, the 4.6l has no trouble getting there either , before tune it'll only do 98 or 99 mph, and slow getting there, now punch it and it'll climb quick. All i have got done is flowmaster single in dual out dumped under rear end of truck, 1715 tuner, and air intake. Thats all i think i need for all around power, it done what i wanted it to do.

$198.12 is what i got tied up in it, hard to bet that for the performance adders. And yes i'm showing just little over 2 mpg better on fill ups.

Bass Assasin,

I have the same intake with my 02 F150 and it works really well. I have had mine for over two years and I have not had a CEL. You may want to go with a different filter since it needs to be oiled. I recently purchased an AEM Brute Force Dry Flow filter and now I do not have to worry about getting my MAF sensor gummed up with oil. I always put too much oil on the filter. A dirty MAF will affect mileage.

Sure beats paying $200-$300 doesn't it?

My intake looks just like that, AirRaid. Had mine for 3 years, no problems at all. I just took a road trip from Tampa to Knoxville and back, averaged 20.8 mpg deiving about 70-75 mph...

You have a link or ebay store name for me to find the same intake? It sounds like I need one of these considering the only reason I dont have one already is the $200+ price tags on them usually.

Thanks!
