Magnaflow question

Magnaflow question
Hello guys! I have a 05 F150 Crew with the 5.4L. When I first got it a few years ago I put a flowmaster single in/dual out on the truck, 40 series. Was happy with it, but could have been louder.
Well today I noticed that the Flowmaster muffler is already rusted to hell and the outlet pipes the attach to the muffler are begining to rust as well. So now I'm annoyed and looking for another exhaust! I've had enough with Flowmaster. So I'm thinking about Magnaflow. I've looked at their site but I can't figure out which one to buy. I want single in/dual out.

Will this do the trick? The thing is, I can't remember if the flowmaster I have on there now is 3" in or 2.5". I would like the loudest single in/dual out.
Also, is the difference with the polished stainless just looks?
Thanx!

Great Magnaflow choice, but, it will not be as loud as the Flowmaster. That Magnaflow muffler would be your best bet for a muffler replacement, and if you upgraded to hi-flow cats it would certainly out-sound the Flowmaster.
I would buy it from Summit.

Your real best bet would probably be the Roush Off-Road cat-back.

Guys, a question regarding my Cats. I just climbed under my truck and I can only see 2 Cats. But further up the pipe, closer to the engine, I can see 2 more sensors in the pipe. So, from what I can see I have 4 sensors, but only 2 Cats. This seem right? I'm confused, do I have 2 or 4 cats? Would the other Cats further up be very noticable?

Guys, I'm still trying to figure out if I have 2 or 4 cats on my truck. My truck's production month was January 05. All I can see underneath is 2 pretty big cats. Further up the pipe I do not see anything that resembles another cat, but I do see a sensor attached to the pipe, closer to the engine.
What I have decided, if I only have 2 cats. 2 high flow cats, Magnaflow si/do #12198, and 2 magnaflow tips, out the back corner of my truck, on an angle.
Where is the best place to buy for a Canadian??? eh!

If you are getting 2 high flows anyway why worry about if you have 2 or 4? If you have 4 are you just going to remove the 2 rears and no high flows? Not trying to be a *****, just trying to understand? The front and back cats are very close together. If you still need help when I get home, I'll get you a pic of my trucks cats. Does performancepeddler not ship to CAN? They have good pricing, check out their site.

I was thinking that if I have 4 cats, its not worth it to add in the 2 highflow cats. I was either going to cut 2 of them out or just forget about the cats and install my si/do muffler.
I'd prefer to have the cats in there as opposed to cutting them out, just for in the future if I have to go through aircare.
Ok, maybe I'm confused. If I do hae 4 cats, is it worth it to put 2 highflows in? My thinking was that it is not.

There are differing opinions on that. I heard if you have 4, you can remove the back 2 and get the same results as high flows. I am going to cut out my back 2 soon, but until then I have no first hand experience on them. Just sharing what I have read on here from others experiences. Hope this helps.

You have two cats. All trucks built in 2005 have two. 2005 trucks built in 2004 have 4 cats. So in general, 2005.5 - present trucks are the 2 cat systems. 1997 - 2005 have 4.

[QUOTE=DarrenWS6;3385974]Roush no doubt.
A day late and a dollar shortlol, already ordered the 14" Magnaflow SI/DO along with the 4x18" tips (should be here tomorrow). I suppose if i'm not happy with it i can get the Roush off road instead and just try to sell the SI/DO.
