Deleted Rear Cat's

How hard is it to delete my rear cat's myself since a muffler shop won't do the job since it's illegal?

Cutting them out is real easy when you have the right blades. Took two good blades to cut mine out with a sawzall.

Re-installing custom pre-flanged pipes was tricky, left side was smooth & easy, but the right side was hard, took all of mine & my buds strength to pull the exhaust back enough to pop the pipe in.

well my 2004's cats were 12" long, and Autozone carried flanged pipe but it was 18", so we cut then down to size and added flanged adapters to fit them on and clamped it up.

Just wondering does cutting the rear cats off make your check engine light come on?? I had heard that the back two o2 sensors would catch that they were missing and make the truck start running rough. Of course i have a 98' so i don't know if there would be any difference with the newer trucks??

On 2004 - 2005 trucks with 4 cats, the CEL will not come on. The pre-cats are only monitored.

1997 - 2003 will set the CEL and it will need to be resolved by MIL eliminators on the rear sensors or clearing it with a custom tune.

Is there any way to put the cats back on the truck without welding?

I'm not sure. The reason I clamped mine in was because of that reason, incase I got caught and had like 1 week to return it to stock and get it checked out before I get fined, that is why I haven't scrapped them cats yet. If I had to put mine in again, what would happen is we would unclamp and cut the cat delete pipe out, fit the stock cats back up welded, and after everythings alright cut them back out and buy the pipe supplies again and re-peat it.
