Strict *** inspection with fines, and un-willing shops to labor the install. I considered it, then considered the pre-cats & hi-flow combo, then decided f it and pulled the rear myself.

Get creative,,,shop around...lol
You could get 2 high flows for the price of one from the exhaust shop!

A good sounding exhaust will make a truck.
I have tuns of money in my set up but I didn't do it all at one time.
My first mod was a dual setup. About $450 for the pipes,2 mufflers and stainless tips out the back.
The I paid $300. to have my 4 cats removed and put in 2 high flows. The high flows cost me $300.bucks!! (Bassani) so that was a 600 dollar job.
Then I paid $700. for long tube headers.
So $700+600+450= $1750 Witch is totally outrages,,,but,,,Dam it sounds GOOD!
And now I'm ready to put some new mufflers on...

The thing is,,,the money might hurt now,,,but you will be Soooo happy when it's done!

Phil

All I can say is shop around... I could never find a shop who wanted to install my longtube headers, so I said screw it, cut off my exhaust, installed them myself, and had an exhaust shop "fix" my exhaust with high flows, 2.5'' true duals, x pipe, maggie DIDO muffler.

I hate to bring up an old thread, but I'm having the same problem right now! Shops don't want to mess with it. I have two 94306 cats and want to remove all 4 and install the 2 94306. Just a quick question though. What do I tell them about the o2 sensors? Do I just tell them to move them behind the cats or what?

if you go with the maggie highflows you aint gotta worry bout a CEL at all. just get two o2 sensor bungs (carquest, $7 for two) and weld them in after your high flows and use yer stock sensors. you wont have a CEL and its very easy to do. providing your own high flows and bungs no shop should charge over 100 to do the work or i'd go somewhere else or like i did do it yerself and save the money
