K&N problems

I installed a K&N Series 77 on my 4.6L Flareside a few weeks ago and although it performed well I discovered a very annoying and loud sound. On deceleration there was a juddering sound coming from the intake. It sounded mechanical, like a torsion bar, but it was finally diagnosed as an incompatability with the stock idle air sensor. When I removed the K&N the sound disappeared. I was told that there is no solution, i.e. no adjustment or aftermarket part. Someone here please tell it "just ain't so." Has anyone experienced this problem or have an answer for me that will allow me to have the benefits of the CAI without the noise?

The stock intake has a muffler on it. My S&B intake droned around 2000 rpms, once I got my tunes and roush exhaust it went away.
