Wink Catalysator F150 year 1998

This summer i bought a f150, 5,4l. It is 1998 model.

I have not seen the car yet, as i had to move it from Fort Worth, Texas to Aalborg which is a city in Denmark in the Northern Europe.

Now after 4 months of waiting, it is getting closer. I have just recived information that the car har arrived at the port of bremerhaven i Germany.

Before being able to drive the car in Demark I have to get the car approved by the Danish authoryties. This is not that easy, as the f150 is a wery rare car in Denmark.

One of the key issues, I just found out, is what sort of catalysator the car use.

now to my question (thank for keeping on reading) Does the F150 produced in february 1998 have a 3-way catalysator.

I sincerly hope it does, otherweise there is no chance I kan get the car approved

I hope you understand my poor english and I amsorry for any misspelling

This is my first thread. Please let me know if i did anything wrong.

I believe all OEM cats are 3 way catalyst. One thing I can assure you with, if its all stock, it will have no problems. '97 - '05 F150s have 4 cats, and they resonate alot of loudness, and keep the outside smoke free and healthy.

Thanks Darren

Just to make sure I understand. You are saying, that 1997-2005 have 4 individual cats which under all circumstances is a better and more advanced solution than the 3 way cat.

Well, Better, I wouldn't say that, its good because you can mess with them like remove the rears to gain a louder sound, but 4 cats is restrictive exhaust flow. A two cat system would certainly out-flow the 4 cat system. None the less, I dont believe you would have any problems.

Yes our catalytic converters are 3-way converters. Which I assume you mean will break down carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides & hydrocarbons. I know that the 97-03's are but I can only assume the 04-08's are too.
