Why ruin a nice FX4 truck with the stack kit ? I know its your money and you want to be different but go with the roush off -road kit.

MY opinion is that it is your truck and if you want to do it go ahead...If you dont like it,,,rereun it out the back or side. All you will have is 2 holes in the floor you can coverup anyway.
How many of us have done mods on our cars or trucks and then didnt like them after? Or thought they would like it but tried anyway and get lots of compliments on it.
This is one of my Mustangs that some say look stupid because of the big front lower lip, but others love it:

The first person that got stacks on their diesel was probalby ridiculed for coming up with the idea too.
I think a lot of ppl are trying to keep you from making a costly mistake (in their opinion) though, and really doing out of good nature.
Remember, if you do it, you can always use 4" stacks sticking up, but have your 2.5 or whatever pipes inside the dummy stacks for show.
Good luck with decision

I don't know what to say about stacks, but I'd like the guts of a modern ford with this as an exterior. I'd throw in the smoke and flamethrowers, perfect. No I'm not kidding, sorry for the thread creep(ers)

A friend back home in Michigan, has a 1974 f150 with a built 460 in it. He ran off the headers, true dual stacks (the stack's pipe size was proly 2.5 or 3in) but it sounded awesome! It was so loud.

I've seen many other trucks with this type of exhaust and I've looked online for such kits but I'm concerned that these kits and all stack exhaust in general only fit Diesel models...
anyone ever try to throw these kits on their trucks?

Summitracing.com has a couple kits for gas trucks, i think they run around $300

I plan on putting stacks on mine as well a little after the "roll bar" I just ordered.

Summit Racing sells a pair of Shielded Side Pipes. I don't see why you couldn't turn them vertical into stacks. They have a 2.5" inlet and 3" outlet. The pipes also have removable glasspack mufflers. So if you wanted to, you could buy a dual out muffler and get rid of the packs:

Behind the bar. The bar is going to butt up right against the rear window. The stacks will come out about an inch after the bar inside the bed.
