FlowMaster 40

Does anyone have FlowMaster 40 muffler on there trucks? I'm thinking of getting one for my truck. I have some knock off FlowMaster on it now and you can't hear it at all. It's on a 351 Windsor so if anyone has a 40 on their Windsor, could you post a video of it so I can hear what it sounds like? Thanks.

I dont have a 351 but i have 4.6L v8 with an Original 40 Flowmaster, sounds really good i think. I have no mods (ie. CAI/Tuner) just stock cats and SI/DO

clips in my profile at the bottom

40 series is a good sounding muffler. Plenty loud.

Good cause that's what I want. With the muffler I have on it now you can hardly hear it when you're standing right behind the truck.

Well, put the 40 on last night and at first it was really quiet. I've put 100 miles on it today and it sounds like it's starting to burn in. Will it get much louder or will it be on the quiet side?

I would estimate 300 to 500 miles. I was disappointed in mine at first. After about a week, it sounded great. Loud enough to hera when you accelerate but not irritating.

it will get somewhat louder. what year is your truck?

Mine was better with the 40, much better when I replaced all 4 cats with 2 high flow magnaflows cats. Then even better once I dumped it right infront of the rear axle.

you could just try that. cut the pipes off and you will be able to hear it better in the cab.

But highflow cats the way to go. 80-90 buck each or something like that..

or maybe that was for the pair I forget.
