99-03 vs 04-08 4.6

What is the difference in these engines that is keeping 04-08 owners from using 99-03 LT headers? Do the bolts not line up? Is there something in the way?

So is there no reason why 99-03 LT headers wouldn't fit 04-08 engines?

I wasnt even aware of a company that made LTs for the 4.6 truck.

I dont see any reason why the headers themselves wouldnt bolt up to the cylinder heads....whether or not the headers will actually miss/clear OTHER parts under the hood in the post 04 models compared to the pre 04 models is another question though.

So, yeah, they will fit the engine, but will they fit the TRUCK??

Buy a set and try it yourself...just make sure you can return them if they dont work

OBX makes a set for the 4.6. I went under the truck to check for clearance issues, and everything looks fine and dandy. I'd have to have a set to make sure everything lines up, but I'm not going to blow $500 just to see if they fit. Maybe I could contact the makers and see if they can work.

I also found a company called QuikTrip headers, on the Pacesetter website, and they make a set for our trucks! The only problem that I can see so far is that they are made of steel, and I've never heard of the damn company.
