Dual Exhaust - Which?

OK, I have a 2008 F150 XLT SCrew 4x2 5.4 and want to get dual exhaust installed. I don't want it to be super loud. Just a good throaty sound.

Which should I go with Flowmaster or Magnaflow?

Which model should I get to keep from waking the neighbors?

Thanks in advance!!!!!!

i wouldn't trade my CORSA for any other, sounds really good, no vibration or anything, quiet in the cab, allot deeper, throatier than stock

Yup, I really like the 5x8x18" on my '97.
Nice deep tone & loud enough when you get on it, but you can still sneak around the neighborhood if you're easy on the skinny pedal.

The Roush "Legal" Exhaust meets all the criteria you are asking for. Complete system is made from T-304 (Aircraft Grade) Stainless - which will not rust like the Flowmaster or Magnaflow systems will, SI/DO muffler which runs to dual rear exit tips.

It all depends on how "loud" you and the family can stand. I had the 18" Magnaflow SI/DO and it was just about right. When I added LT headers I went to a dual setup with x pipe into a 22" Magnaflow #14568. If you want free flow and a nice tone, I can recommend the #14568 and the neighbors want be mad at you either. Good luck!

I have a $500 budget - how much is the Roush? About $600.00?

In Magnaflows defense, it will not rust out, it will get surface crusted up after a few years. Its T-409 stainless.

That doesn't include shipping. It's another $60.

Woodhouse charges $70 for shipping.

EDIT: This is about the cheapest place I have seen. $530 shipped.

304 Stainless is a very brittle exhaust. 409 Stainless is an exhaust grade stainless and can stand up to the elements better. Yes you will get surface rust but it will not attack the piping. Ive had our system on my car for 5 years and I do have surface rust but its never gone any farther than just on top of the pipe.

The bad thing about 304 is that if you have and hangers welded to the pipe they will eventually break off. Thats due to the expanding and contracting of the pipe. Its like taking a paper clip and bending it back and forth it will break.
