Sawping intake onto new truck questions..

Well I took off the volant intake system from my 2005 f150 right before i traded it in and now I have a 2008 with the same engine.. the difference is I noticed that the 2008s engine sits about 2 inches lower then my 2005s did. Am I able to still use the same intake??? I looked on volants site and they say that my intake was for 04-05 but they do not have one listen for 06-08 so i am wondering if it will work without any problem..

was on a 2005 f150 4.6 v8
now on a 2008 f150 4.6 v8

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Try it. You should be able to set it in the engine bay and see if it looks like it bolts up.

On a side note, I don't think I've ever heard of someone getting a second 4.6L

Pat, how far south?? like past congress?

I live just on the inside of austin right by round rock, but I might be willing to drop by.. it would be nice to meet some of the members on here!

I am going to try and install it tomorrow and I will see if everything fits! I am keeping my fingers crossed!!

I know I would have gone with the 5.4 but the deal they gave me on this truck was just to awesome to pass up so I took it plus its everything I wanted.. once I get my edge...Gryphon back and the intake and exhaust I am sure I will have enough power back under my belt!

Well Guys, I tried and it didnt line up at all. I am going to sell it, I think it fits a 2004-2005 f150.

I noticed that it wont fit because the intake manifold sits about 3 inches lower and also sits to the left about 2 inches so it wont line up at all.

hmm that sucks. I know they changed the intake manifold to get more ponies out of it in 2004, 2006, and again in 2009

Im just north of slaughter off of west gate.
