what is the best Exhaust system?

I've got a 2003 Ford F-150 XLT shortbed. I was wondering what the best sounding and performance enhancing exhaust system is? I've looked at magnaFlow, Flowmaster, and Borla. I've heard borla sounds the best but its also the priciest. money isnt really a factor, im just looking for an all around best quality best sounding best price, best looking exhaust system.

Personally I think MagnaFlow makes great exhaust systems. Feel Free to shoot me a PM if you have any questions about exhaust systems

Opinions on exhaust systems, are like **** orificies, everyone has one. It all depends on personal preference, and how much you want to spend. On the low end you have aluminized steel, flowmaster, and on teh high end stainless Magna flow, Bassani, JBA etc. Magna Flow has proven performance, and excellent quality. Personally I just orderd a JBA system, based on sound and price, About half that of Magna Flow.

couldnt have said it better Glen R

just depends on how loud you want it, how you want it to sound, how long you want it to last. if you want performance and a long lasting muffler, go with borla or bassani magnaflows are more popular because of the cheaper price and will not rust, but i just dislike the sound they produce, i myself am a flowmaster and no muffler fan

just depends on what YOU like

I would suggest trolling around on this site and listening to different clips of people exhaust to find what you like best. Everyone is going to say magnaflow, personally I don't like the sound of them at all. A lot of people have clips in their sigs so just look around and listen and find what you like.

Borla is the priciest because it is hands down the highest quality. Sounds awesome, performs awesome, AND (since you said you wanted best looking too) it will be shiny silver after years of use while a magnaflow will be all covered in rust.

My Heartthrob exhaust system does not have a muffler. Just a straight pipe from the y-pipe, down to a y-pipe to two pipes over the axle, then out through glasspack resonators.

Sound is subjective, so that's personal preference.

As far as quality goes, I guarantee you will not find a higher quality system than Borla. I've had Magnaflow, JBA, and Corsa exhausts on other vehicles and Borla is by far the highest quality. Corsa is very good as well. Both are quite expensive systems, but it shows in the quality. I found good prices on Borla through Jegs however. Roush exhaust is made by Borla also.

I was not impressed with Magnaflow or JBA.

Another plus for Magnaflow!

I have the exact same setup as scotyg, and I really like it. Plus their customer support is great.
