I've seen a member on another forum use a magnaflow muffler that has an x pipe built in, so its dual in dual out. Just cut the pipes where they join a the Y and run individual pipes to the mufler and it keeps it all on the right side with out interfering with the drivetrain. Then you decide to run them out together or split.

I'm in Texas also, I know the laws on emissions. You HAVE to have some form of sound deadening device, even if it minimally reduces noise. With the outlaw muffler, the ideal setup would be a 3" pipe from your stock Y, into the outlaw, connected to a single 3"-dual 2.5" y pipe, leading out to the back of the truck. This way, you don't get the performance loss of true duals, the awesome sound of a race muffler, and the dual tips look you are after. Just an FYI, the dynomax bullet is quite a bit cheaper than the outlaw, and is basically the same exact thing. The muffler is nothing more than a round body with a perforated pipe running through the middle of it and no packing. Basically a straight pipe, but resonated a little for better sound/less popping and gargling.
