alright, so with that said, the 14" sounds about right to me, i drive it for work, so i need it to be able to be quiet when i need it to, but sound good under throttle... so as long as i keep it slow near the customers house, i should still be presentable...

Wound a monroe muffler do this for me, buy it online, and what size in and out, center or offset?

Any shop should be able to. I dont know why they wouldn't, your still paying their labor install so they should. If your sticking to a direct muffler swap only, keep it 2.5", and I would get the 14" with both ends offset for best fitment.

Thats an excellent deal, $69 for a 14" body, usually they are $74.

wow, stainless for that price is great...

i just went out and looked at the stock setup and wow, that muffler is HUGE... with the 14' im assuming that a pipe extension is needed to keep it coming out like stock... i'll leave all this up to the shop... not worth my time for something small like this...

that summit racing one will be the one i go with, as long as it will not drone and drive me nuts at cruising speed... from what i've been told, this should be fine...

thanks!

are there any stores like advanced auto, pep boys or something that would carry magnaflows? i would like to pay cash and not have to wait if i can...

i am listening to the 14 and 18" magnaflows on youtube with decent speakers, and you can tell the difference is huge... the 18 sounds decent, but i would like a little more, but the 14 sounds almost too much, would the 14 cause cops to get pissed and get more possible tickets from the 14 instead of the 18? i dont want to go too quiet and waist my money, but i dont want too loud and do the same either...

ii dont want to be oboxious when im just cruising in town... so maybe the 18 would be better?

maybe....with the 18" you could cut out the rear cats (if you have them, I know I do) and that would bring out some sound. kinda like putting on a 16...but not...

not to jack or anything, but im lookin to do the same exact thing to my 01. so to yall pros, could i just cut out my rear cats with a sawza and weld in a straight piece, then Y pipe to the 18"er? sound bueno?

They should. Advanced auto is most likely to, but thats only if your lucky. Your best bet may be to buy online.

The 14" will be just right, it wont attract cops or disrupt the peace, I swear by it. My exhaust doesn't and i'm running 11"s with two missing cats.

I have to agree i love the sound from a flow master. spent weeks looking at Youtube videos comparing sounds. In the end flowmaster just won me over

all done... 77.00 (inc. shipping) for the 14" magnaflow, and 60 bucks to weld it up with a stainless pipe extension since this one was so much shorter then stock at a Cole Muffler.

It gets louder as it warms up, and cruising at 55 on level ground it is silent... at 70 is has a little bit of drone, and when i am going up a hill in 4th gear and its locked in, it drones quite a bit, but as soon as it becomes unlocked or goes into 3rd gear it gets quieter. It is not silent like it was, the drone is manageable though.

from a dead stop, and you punch it, it sure purrs like a loud kitten now. sounds SOOO much better then stock, and yet it is controlled so it is not overwhelming and a cop catcher. Great for a everyday driver.

When i went to pass some one, it sure sounded great.

The funny thing is, when i left the shop a guy in a chevy with little to no exhaust decided to show off to me, and was reving his engine and peeled out from the stop sign we were at. So of course me with the new muffler, had to rev right back to him... feels good to not have a silent truck any more.

when in neutral and revving it, it sounds better also, i have a video from my cell phone, but it sounds like crap, the microphone aparently sucks, cause it sounds horrible on the cell, and so much better in person...

overall i am happy and would highly recommend this particular muffler, summit racing got it to me in 2 days with standard shipping, very happy with them and the muffler.

thanks for the help

HUGE Sound differance for around 50 bucks!
I added a 4 inch turndown chrome tip out the back in place of the factory side exit. With the Cherry Bomb Extreme muffler it more than doubled the sound just by changing the tip only. The turndown echoes the sound off the road instead of cars in the right lane, buildings, walls etc. The sound doesn't resonate inside due to it being behind the truck instead of under it.
