Flowmaster 44 comments

Can i get some actual comments on the above? NOT intending to start another muffler debate,,,,just the above. I some searching the forum and realy didnt see any comments from users. I have the oval 4 x 9 x 13 Magniflow SI/SO now, dumped in front of rear wheel, and its too quiet. (2 1/2 all the way) The FM 44 must not be getting much fanfare? I've also had the deltaflow 50 and its too quiet. thanks 05 scab 4.6, no other mods...rossford

alot of people dont like flowmasters because they are "to loud" or "rob your performance" or "they are to expensive"

i like the flowmaster sound but to many people have them and i like to be different but not many people have the super 44

if you like the flowmaster sound and want your truck pretty loud and dont care about performance then go with the super 44 its the loudest flowmaster makes

thanks .....how about compared to the original 40 series (i've had this one also, on a '91 302, far too much interior noise) or the delta flow 40? I was told that the 44 took the place of the original 40 styles? incl. deltaflow. thanks rossford

i have a si/do super44. i love it! i did not notice any lose over it, and even if you do supposedly loose a little, you barely notice it in a big heavy truck, so it wasnt a big deal to me. the sound is great though!

and think of this, you had a bigger motor on the 1991 5.0 and the 2005 4.6 has 4 catalytic converters

I have a 40 series, got it at advanced auto for like $80 and then had it installed in place of the original muffler for $60. Sounds pretty good, not much drone and has a decent growl at low RPM's. I will be getting a SI/SO 3.5" MBRP exhaust soon.

I used to have the super44. I liked the tone, but didn't care for the drone or lack of performance.

The Super 44 sounds pretty decent, but thats it. It wont last forever, economy may minorly suffer but its only like 10 - 20 miles less a tank, and they will be loud.

Actually as of later October Flowmaster has brought the original 40 series back into production. Hopefully its built a little better than the previous versions.

http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/mufflers.html Its labeled as "Standard 40 series"

I have the Super 44 DI/SO on a 2000 F150. It sounds great. If you want great sound, and a little loudness take the flowmaster route (super 44 is tough to beat). My dad has a magnaflow 18" on his 08 F150 it sounds great to but doesn't have that high rpm roar that my flowmaster has, and of coarse it is quieter.

The whole "performance issue" is a joke. Unless you race all the time or plan on doing alot to your truck, you won't even notice.

I dont know about that, did you mean SI/DO? If not, then your muffler is backwards.
