SI/SO options

I am looking at getting an exhaust with my tax refund and was looking at getting a good SI/SO system with a tip. Darren, since you are the exhaust guru on here as well as many others, i would like y'alls opinions on magnaflows, since i have a certain loyalty to them ever since i got my first truck. I was thinking along the lines of a maggie 11219. I think the 3" in and 3" out will be good for this set-up. I dont want too loud but i do want it to be heard with minimal cab drone. If i was going SI/DO, I would go with 12288 so that is the sound level i am going for. I just dont know how to equate that into a SI/SO system. I also was wondering what kind of tip you guys think would look best here. Dont mind the monster look either with the big 5" oval tip. Just thought I would ask since you guys know your sh*&t.

Thanks all.

An all 3" single exhaust would be the best performing set up, good choice. Only down side to it is it isn't as cool looking as dual tailpipes is. I think you have a good idea, the 14" in the SI/SO, with maybe a 4x12 or 4x18 tip. I would keep the tip round, and rolled edged. Would look, sound, and perform great, maintaining a good low rpm and cruise sound.

You know there are guys that ll give you answers, and then there are guys like you and wandell who will give you answers to the questions asked with great input. I got my tires based on wandell and now my exhaust based on you boss. I appreciate your input and am really glad i chose this site when looking for one to be apart of. As for the exhaust, Ill def. put vids up when I get them installed and let y'all here what it sounds like. I also like your tips so the rolled 4x12 or 18 will look good I think also. Thanks for your input Darren

I have the 18" SI/SO 3" with a 3.5" Silverline tip before the passenger rear wheel. I need to take a vid of it, it sounds great to me.

If I can find my old gallery I'll post some pics.

That would be cool. I w ould appreciate that so i can see what to look forward to. I just pulled the trigger on this setup with a maggie # 35116 4X12 rolled angled tip. I looked at PimpRohr's setup and I really like his tip look. So I went and checked out MBRP's tips and it looks like theirs is a 4X12 rolled that comes with it so I am gonna set mine up with the same look as his. When it gets here and I get it installed, Ill post some vids.
