Take the truck to a exhaust shop and have them install the piping, mufflers (if you wish), and tips. Make sure they do mandrel bends. Keep the exhaust pipe size in the 2.25 - 2.5" range. True duals will be louder and have more of a rumble. You can add an H or X pipe to true duals to tone down the exhaust a bit or (very slightly) gain power. Y-piped duals will have be a little more quite and have a more "aggressive" tone.

For a nice a loud rumble - Flowmaster 44's, Dynomax Bullets, or straight pipes

For a quieter, more mellow tone - Magnaflow

Remember, the shorter/smaller the muffler, the louder it will be.

For tips, get stainless steel ones. You'll never have to worry about replacing them. You can take them and get them powder coated black or buy black stainless ones. Rolled 4x18" or 4x24" tips would look great straight out the back.

No problem i think he will like the super 44's nice deep sound and not that loud in the cab. just be sure to tell the exhaust shop you want the muffler as far back as possible because if he mounts it to towards the cab there will be alot more noise in the cab where farther back wont be near as much.Mine is amazingly quite inside the cab where as some people says theres is loud, just depends on the location. I have a video under my sig with my super 44.
