Flowmaster 17222 question
Just ordered the 17222 kit for my 03 Screw. Got a decent price of $330 delivered. Reading some older posts here and other places there seems to have been a problem with the left side pipe being appx 4" short and people were having a piece of pipe made up by local shops to fix the issue. Some have contacted Flowmaster about the problem so my question is has anyone recently used this kit and did it fit? I would assume they fixed the issue but just wanted to check here. Thanks

Well got it all installed today. Took a couple hours from start to finish. The problem with one of the tail pipes being short must have been corrected. i have used the 50 series performance/suv muffler before and was happy with the sound and this time was no exception. I do not like really loud exhaust but I do want to know something is going on under the hood. The only complaint is they dont tell you to save your original intermediate pipe, the one thats right after the y pipe. It is a bit tough separating it from the original muffler without destroying it. They do supply a new one but it is short (see pics) and it takes both your old one and their new one together to make the system fit. I guess this is where the factory gets the extra length on the exhaust for the super crews. I would add it in the kit and charge a few bucks more but thats me. Everything fit decent after a bit of tweaking, even around the receiver and spare tire. It has a mellow sound that gradually increases with load and at highway speed its barely noticable which is nice for those long trips. No drone in the cab AT ALL, so for $330 delivered I am happy. I added a few pics of the kit in my gallery, no video or sound clips as I dont have a video camera. Ill see what I can work out in the near future.

Remove some cats or get hi-flows and they'll sound decent, mine does to me atleast. Flowmasters sound great on Chevys, sound good on Fords with stock cats. Magnaflows sound great on hi-flow/removed cat Fords, sound alright with stock

for those who asked heres a video, sorry about the background noise. Some idle, some 2000 RPM and a few revs.
