Pretty sure you just have to have 2. Unless they know you're truck is "supposed" to have 4.

Yes, personally I would go with a 2.25 out.

ok i think i have to have an offset inlet for my truck. and its hard to find a 40 series with offset 2.5 in and 2.5 dual out but i can find 2.5 offset in and dual 2.25. would that make installation any more because of the different sizes?

Unless you are required by law to have the same amount of cats as stock, you can run two hi-flows with no lawful issues. Ask your local exhaust shops if it would be an issue.

Big wrong oh. 3" inlet mufflers are healthier to run on these trucks even if half of the intermediate pipe is 2.5". The best running setup would be entire 3" from the Y, to a SI/DO muffler with 2.5" tailpipes. 2.5" in and 2.25" out wont exhale properly.

I'd say False. It's a 1999, I thought the 04+ was best to run 3" all the way to the muffler and 2.5" out. You'll lose ***** of low end with 2.5" TP's.

Your wrong again. ANY Ford modular V8 Triton engine is best off running 3" single. Until you have experience with one of those trucks with exhaust changes learn the facts. The difference from the '97 - '03 to '04 - '08 4.6L is nothing. The difference from the '97 - '03 5.4L to the '04 - present are 3 valves per cylinder, a better programming, a couple other small things.

Any pick up/suv with a V8 engine should run this set up if they go custom because its the healthiest set up for power and it will operate even better with further performance modification.

And tailpipes do not have anything to do with performance, rice burners run 2.25" exhaust with 5" tailpipes and still run 11s, once the velocity is absorbed into the muffler it then holds its return point which is what everyone calls 'back pressure'

Fail Rice burners don't run 11s.

Dude, an Evo is not a ricer. If it's turboed, that turns into an import tuner, not rice.
