I'm thinkin its going to cost me $600+ to do this. I have the money to do it but like i said i'm moving into an appartment here before winter. Ah the choices of life haha.

Anyway to save some money do you think the exhaust shop can re-use all the pipes from the muffler back(talking a true dual set-up)? Or am I looking at new pipe, muffler, and tips ( the whole kabang)?
yes definitely they will use every bit of pipe from the muffler back as long as youre keeping two tail pipes, they can use them for true duals or si/do and just mount it right up. i went from si/do 40 series to true duals and they kept all piping from the end of the muffler back, and then ran two separate pipes towards the front of the truck after puttin the two new muffs on.
So youl be paying for ''muffler forward'' piping

95'F-150. Judging by your name I thought you had a 1995. Thats how the un-ability to run true duals would make sense because in the '96 & older trucks they had two cats that were in the intermediate pipe, so they would have to be deleted and hi-flow cats mounted before the Y. But having a 2001, yes all of your cats are before the Y. True duals is a simple install there.

Ya i had a 95 for my first truck. 2wd f-150 with a 351 windsor. Baby would scream. But i had a true dual set-up on that truck. But when i got it, it already had it on there so i just had to replace the mufflers so it wasn't a big deal at all.

But yeah now i have a 2001 f-150 5.4 off road. Dumped a lot of money into this truck. But i found out why the guy said he couldn't do what i thought i was asking for. See i had my mom set-up the appointment and give the details because i was in high school then and had baseball practice till 6 everynight. And she told him i wanted the cats cut off. Which wasnt what i remember saying but anyway thats why he couldn't do it. Makes since now.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking? Do you already have an flowmaster exhaust installed by a shop? If so, what are you looking to do? I apologize but I'm just not sure what you are asking.

Maybe consider adding hi-flows and having tips welded back on. Darren knows the various part #'s for the maggie cat's that are semi loud and those that are near catless sounding.

Maybe try hi-flow cats. That woulds still keep your truck legal if you are not in CA I believe.

I have to head to bed, but I am sure Darren will chime in later tonite or in the morning. I know that you can phyically remove your rear cats and weld piping in their place, but there is no guarantee that you will not throm a CEL. So to be honest, I think Hi-flows would be a better choice because it gives you two options for loudness... a bit louder than what you have and then near catless sounding ones. That is just me, but see what Darren says. Have a good night.
