Longtubes for performance, shorties for just a simple replacement and a minor sound gain. Pacesetter, and Dynatech make excellent headers.

do you have a 4x4 or 4x2? if you have a 4x2 the OBX headers are pretty worthwhile for long tubes

Yea the OBX's are nice. If you've got a 4x4 though it takes a little extra work to get the midpipes to fit.

Did you have any problems with the 4x4 OBX headers being inline with the transfer case drive shaft? If so what did you do?

Thanks

ive ran both pacesetter shortys *220$* and pacesetter long tubes *284$* the long tubes gave me more performance the shortys were nice because they were direct bolt and i didnt need to change cats and all that.

both are great never had a prob with either. my shortys are on another members truck on here and still going strong after 3 years

Arrrr

The OBX headers that I got for my truck did not work. I bought full length OBX headers for a 2005 F150 FX4 (4X4) and they did not fit. The drivers side header fell right in line with the transfer case axle. After weeks of back and forth OBX told me they didn't have a working set.

I installed Pacesetters with the Y pipe. My PS system bolted up no problems but it elminated the cats.

Installing the Long tubes is not for the inexperienced. My truck required pulling the transmission loose and backing it off the engine 8 inches or so for clearance of the passenger side header. I tried every way possible to install them otherwise and failed. Installing the headers on this truck is not easy at all. Getting to some of the bolts is very difficult. It also requires removing all the exhaust studs. Good luck getting some of those out without a stud removal tool.
