OBX Racing Exhaust Headers 04-06 Ford F150 4WD 5.4L V8

Hello all!

New to registering but frequent the site. Have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to. I have these headers OBX Racing Exhaust Headers 04-06 Ford F150 4WD 5.4L V8. I went to install them and found that the left side is right in line with the transfer case drive shaft. The kit came with both headers and a Y pipe. The Y pipe seems to be the right one because it lines up with where the left header should be.

Anyone else have this issue and figure out the problem?

I think I got a mixed up header set with 2WD headers and a 4WD Y pipe. Otherwise I got the wrong set all together and/or the right set just doesn't work. Anyone esle have a 4X4 and using these headers?

Currently my truck is at a shop on the rack and we are trying to find out the problem. OBX claims I have the right part number and they have not had any problems. However there is no way to make these headers I have work. They would work great on a 2WD. Quality of the headers is high. Good welds, Good material... but not sure about fit.

Hopefully someone has these and they fit and I just got a screwed up box of parts.

Thanks!

I got thru to OBX and the tech seems to think he knows whats wrong. Either I got a mis packed kit or in the welding process something was mis aligned. Either way they are working to resolve it... I've searched the net for bad install of this system and only one person had the same issue but he returned his system instead of figuring out the problem.

As soon as I get them installed I will post some feedback on how OBX handles this. So far so good. I just have to ship the headers to them.. wait for them to figure it out and then ship the back.. so.. my truck will sit for weeks.. and I will be stuck with my ole reliable 97 F150 with 170+ miles on it.

Just hate having my truck in someone else garage for so long. Paranoid about damage to the paint etc. or someone breaking into it.
