Roush "Offroad" system vs. Roush "Legal" System

So I am deciding between these two exhausts and I'm not sure which one to get. I have mainly heard sound clips of the "offroad" exhaust system and it sounds really nice but maybe a bit too loud because the cops around here are a-holes. Anyone have either of these set-ups and if so any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The Roush Off-road is a tad quieter than Darren's vids. The legal is a bit louder than stock. Let me put it to you this way. If you don't romp on it, then you would be fine. The attention that you would get is based off of your foot. Are you going to drive like a moron, then yes people will turn and look and maybe its a cop. It's a nice exhaust system from all the research I have done. The legal is much quieter, but maybe pretty queit esp seeing hwo you have a 2004 like me, which mans 4 cats and reduced sound output. If you like the Off-road, then I suggest you get it, just don't floor it, esp where cops would tend to be. You might as well amek yourself happy, and the Roush loudness is legal, I think it says 83 db or something like that.

With yours being a 2004 w/ 4 cats, just go w/ the Offroad version and you will be very happy you did.

Mine is a 2005 w/ 2 cats and at idle and during normal driving, it was barely noticeable. I have since upgraded to hi flow cats and of course all that changed after that

TJ05FX4 makes a great point, the '04 - '05s are the quietest V8 trucks Ford has made yet due to the massive 32" muffler and 4 cat system. The off-road kit should work just fine for you, a little bark on the start, and past 2500rpm. Otherwise city driving will be fine.

The Offroad sounds great. Actually very simlar in tone and decibles to a Flowmaster 40. It is not so loud as to get tickets at all.

Roush offroad all the way

Ive had mine for a couple years on my 05, lovin every minute of it ! Never had a problem with inspections or the police. Just watch out if your running an edge on level 3 and you accidentally cause a downshift in front of a cruiser that you didnt know was there. He may just pull you over for a plate light or something .

Hmm well according to all you guys it seems like the offroad system is a landslide. I forgot to take in account the amount of cats the '04-'05s have because all of the sound clips I have listened to were models later than that. Plus i think the offroad just sounds more badass anyway so thats probably what I'm gonna go with. Thanks guys.

My 05 has 2 cats. The ROR sounds saaaweeet.

The difference between the two is muffler size (ROR 10" long muffler, legal 20" muffler) and the legal kit has resonated tips.
