BBk throtle bodie

BBk throtle bodie

So im trying to improve my throtle response, some times it feel a little laggy, has anyone upgraded their TB to a 75mm bbk, wat about a "upgraded throtle position sensor" any ideas?


99 f150 4X4 4.6L v8, i have an airaid cai, granetelli cai tuned Maf, Magnaflow 2.5" X pipe dual exaust

use the search function above. there have many threads about throttle bodies, which have been stated that they do nothing for performance, only for looks. They are only good on carbureted motors. if you want to show your truck, then a bbk would be a good buy, otherwise a great waste of money. since u already have the cai and dual exhaust i would check ur cats and clean and oil your air filter. those are 2 things that might help you out if they need to be done. plus u have a 4.6..

a TB can help, but only if the TB eblow is ported to allow the air to flow thru it

but you can port a stock TB and polish the elbow and achieve the same thing on a 4.6

That would be a throttle body spacer. An aftermarket throttle body will improve performance.

The problem I can see is that you have a 99 4.6. This means that you have the non-PI heads. You basically have the weakest version of the 4.6. If I were you, I would either swap the heads for the PI heads, or for some 4 valve heads. I doubt you will be able to do that, so just get some custom tunes.
