This thread is hilarious. Last year when I went to get new tires when they went bad on the truck (never rotated them to get my wife to agree to new tires and wore the fronts out in 35k miles) When the belts were showing I went to the local 4X4 shop and had them do all my mods...level, dual mags, 20" on 35's and intake (she still doesnt know about the intake). I came home and she said " did you not think I'd notice?"

It's better to ask for forgivness than permission!

Yall talk about wife's I am 43 I have been married for 14 years.. We have a 12 year old daughter.. My wife always says """""STOP PLAYING WITH YOUR TRUCK""""".. I told her I was installing speakers and Subs..She was ticked for 2 weeks then when they started blowing and such she really got mad... I told her I was going to detail my truck , She said to do her car also.. I told her I need new Shocks , She said her car needed them too, When I bought new tires , I had to buy her new tires.... And just the other day I told her I was going to Firestone to have a Friend that works there jack up my truck and look for any ball joint or front end problems and you guessed it she said well I am going to take my car as well... When you get married everything cost twice as much,, when you have kids everything cost 6 times as much...
Yall do know that women think we men are stupid ... Used to be if you had a really fine car or truck you would get the girl... truth is they went to the best looking car because they have a built in money seeker..
My advice is to buy everything you would ever want in your life and then get married..

All I have is a magnaflow SI/DO with tips straight out the back and the kit comes with an 18" muffler. The wife hates it, says its too loud, only rides in my truck when she has to. She's really gonna hate it when I eventually put on LT's and an 11" DI/DO maggie w/no cats and put in a set of hot rod cams.

You might hate it yourself. A couple months ago a guy with that same setup minus the cams complained about his exhaust flapping too much, rasping, and causing too much noise. I'd keep your 18" body for LTs.

HA....This has always been my philosophy. Works wonderful when you can ask forgiveness with puppy dog eyes, I can.

Man, is that ever true. Boys, if you listen to just one thing I ever say, Get it all done before you get married, cuz you will NEVER get another opportunity. Now don't go hatin me, I LOVE my wife, but man, money goes fast.

My wife has gotten used to a loud exhaust. I've changed out the exhaust on every vehicle I've ever owned. I'm in Iraq now, and I bought my truck a few months ago while here, so I haven't driven it yet, haven't even see it yet, just pictures. It has what looks like a Flowmaster SIDO. I ordered the Dynatech header system with the long tubes and high-flow cats, and I plan on making it 2.5" into a Y pipe with 3" out, probably to a Magnaflow SIDO (haven't decided which yet) and then dual side exit tips behind the rear tires. I also ordered an Airaid CAI and some other performance parts and a SCT X3 programmer all from Troyer. My wife doesn't know about that, but if she finds out, she is not going to be too happy about it, since its over $3k. When it all comes in the mail and I get back and start installing it, I know she will be asking, maybe I can play it off like it didn't cost that much.

I've never posted a link, so hopefully this works:

These are the pictures from the dealer I bought it from.

thats what i tell me girl whenever i get anything installed. im getting new brakes (drilled/slot rotors) which will put me at about $500 and i told her 250. same with exhaust. they should never know the real prices of things, of they would really have a hissy fit! and by the way, that is a badass truck!

Yes on the price thing. Here is a trick of mine. ALWAYS say the price was 75% of the actual price. That way it is more believable than saying it was half of what it actually was. This trick works well on home theater items as well.

My long time GF, hates it. Mainly because it's loud and her parents think it sounds unprofessional or something lol, and the fact that she can't tell me stories while we ride.. May keep my exhaust that way, haha.

thats the whole reason for the exhaust on my truck. my girl works with kids and she always wants to talk about them, the exhaust drains it out
