Tell your stories about how many fights with your wife has your exhaust swaps caused?

I got the truck in 05. Within four years I have made exhaust changes four times. My wife wanted to shoot me after the first switch! After the fourth change it was shoot to kill. She just does't understand guys like us! I love her to death, great wife and mom but doesn't get exhaust needs of a man. lol

1)Original to cherry bomb glasspack.(hated it, loud but not in a good way)
2)Then replaced with Dynomax Ultra(hated it, only noticable when w.o.t)
3)Made it straight piped from cats back(too much popping)
4)Got Cherry Bomb Extreme SI/DO with turndown off muffler under truck midway( WAY too much drone on the interstates)
5)Finally, ran same Extreme out the side in front of tire with two pipes.
Now, it is just right...............................for now anyway! lol
How many changes have you made and tried to explain why it was worth spending money on again?

I had a similar experience with my ex girlfriend and my old Mustang. My car had been down for a while from needing a new clutch. Well I went and put a new clutch in one morning while she was still asleep and while we had the car on the lift put in a new x-pipe. When I finally finished it I went back and picked her up and she rode with me to the store she just couldn't understand why I was grinning from ear to ear and just gave me the weirdest look. Women just don't understand!!

Glad to hear you got it right the first time. I went through some messy muffler divorces before I found the right one.

You need to look into Magnaflow then. Mines loud ( tasteful loud, not raspy and cheap sounding like chambered mufflers ) and quiet inside.

Hey, 87 it is funny when you get it done without her knowing then see her reaction the first time she rides in it after the change. It is a good way to tell how noticable the swap was. lol Especially after you straight pipe it and she says oh what did you do this time!

bought the truck and it had 18" or 22" magnaflow (never did figure it out, nor did i care) with a turndown. the turndown was pointing right at the rear diff so i had an excuse to change it. i then was talked into putting a 14" satin SS magnaflow and it was so weak. it was quieter! so i took that muffler on and put the big one back on and i just put it out the side before the rear tire, and it sounded better, but wasnt enough for me. then the dynomax bullet came into my life. i put it out the side in place of the big magnaflow and it was so damn wicked sounding. i was in love. my girlfriend HATED it. she would not go in the truck with me, and made me drive her honda civic if we went somewhere. but the drone on the highway really got to me, so i spent $150 more (probably at about $400 by now) and put it out the back 45 degrees. i love the sound, as you saw by the video. 4/10 on drone on the highway, and wicked sounding at watever RPMS. she did come in the truck and i tried to explain what i did, but she could care less. all in all, im happy. now just gotta cut out my pre cats and ill be good to go, hope its not too loud!

I had an '05 F150 with Magnaflow cat-back. When I traded it in on an '07 because of issues on the '05, the first time she drove it she said I need to put exhaust on it because it was too quiet. Gotta give her props for that!

I dont care but if any girlfriend or wife says you need to take this off your truck or change something that i like and the way i wanted it i will tell them to suck it up or leave. My girl thinks the exhaust is too loud at times and i just say oh well. She doesnt like the fact that i wanna do an sas and run 49s and possibly 52s on this and spend all that money. But i wanna do it so i will

My gf's only comment on the exhaust is i can hear you coming, other than that no issues. however she doesnt like the light bar. even before i bought it she said she hated it but i liked it so it went on and she just has to deal with it cuz there's not much she can do about it.

Glad you got an agreeable setup
