So my parts are arriving tomorrow and I'm looking to get this thing installed. I called my guy who said he'd do it and we talked price. For the 3 inch piping and the labor to install it, he wants $230 canadian plus tax, and that does not include the muffler and tip since I already paid for that. Seems steep to me. Opinions?

$230 Canadian is just about $210 American. It sounds a little up there but it actually sounds quite fair for what you are getting, though $200 Canadian dollars flat would be better.

What type of work do they do, Are they using Mandrel bends? Rubber hangers? Stainless piping and welds? I would pay for it if so.

I got my parts today, and holy crap.... so pretty! That 4 inch tip is absolutely sick. I'm getting it all welded up and installed tomorrow afternoon/evening and I'll be sure to post up the results.

I ordered from Hottexhaust.com and they were great. Was here within 2 days, no hassles or screw ups.

How important is it that the piping is stainless or not? I'm not sure what he has or will use. I don't think the bends will be mandrel but I think it's smooth bends. This guy builds track cars and is in the performance world so I'm sure he does it right.

Alright guys, exhaust is on - WOW! It's perfect! I'll get pics up sometime next week as I'm heading away for the weekend to the cottage.

I went with a Magnaflow 3 inch SI/SO with a 14 inch body (12219) and a 12 inch tip measuring 4 inches in diameter with a rolled lip (35116) exiting in the stock location.

I had it custom welded by a friend who owns a shop, and he got me 3 inch stainless steel Magnaflow piping. It was all pre-bent using Mandrel bends. He just pieced it together using the lengths and bends and welded it up.

The sound is amazing. Not too loud at all, and I figured that'd be the case because I kept my stock cats. It rumbles on start up, just the right amount of grunt while accelerating, and when the truck gears down on the highway it's hardly even there.

I'm very happy, I highly recommend this set up, all said and done it was about 400 canadian for parts and labor. The big 4 inch tip is my favorite part, it looks so sweet!

Pics will come soon!

They both do!

I put ~600km on the exhaust already in a couple of long drives so it's probably very close to being broken in already. It sounds just amazing, I love it. Nice low grumble on the highway when geared down and really lets you know it when you're on it.

Thanks to everyone for answering questions and also for the compliments. Gotta love this site!

Smokey - I would have gone with an 18 inch long tip if I went with two of them. Since I wanted single I thought the 12 inch was better. It definitely fit better with my side exit.

1clean42 - Yes mine does sound a lot like that, but just a bit louder. The sound type is almost identical.
