i would check on the whole engine being lean thing for an 07 i thought that problem was for the 05-06 years. There is a deff difference from stock!!! the whole sucking noise has to be gotten use to it but it has improved my get up in the truck.

i have an 08 f150 but its a V6 and i have had my K&N cold air intake on for about 10 months and have had no problems. at first when you put it on, it may run lean, but your computer moniters every 500 miles you drive so after about 500mi, it should adjust itself. like my 04 f150 heritage i had. went from 18.9 stock for an average to 19.9 with a K&N drop in filter, to 22.5 with the intake(same one that is on my 08) but at first when you put it on, your computer knows it is getting a lot more air so it takes about 500 miles to adjust for it. i know the first tank i did got 25mpg average, the next one got 18, then the next was 22.5 which is where it stayed. computer leveled it out after a bit. my 77 series CAI from K&N came with a dyno printout of a similar truck. it had a 99 f150 V6 with 140k and it got an extra 6.15hp to the rear wheels. my 04 had 30k so it probably got more power than 6.15 out of it. and my 08 had maybe 2k on it when i installed it. i am up to 16k now with no problems.

actually i have heard that if you use a tuner without either a CAI or a higher flow exhaust, that it is bad for your truck. having one or the other is ok but both is best. i have the stock exhaust on mine but have my K&N intake. no tuner but no problems with my 08 V6 yet from the intake
