Roush off road on the way, stock midpipe help..

Ordered the roush off road. My truck has 51,000 miles on it and mid pipe is in solid but ugly rusted shape.
would I benefit from going from stock 2.5" mid pipe ot a 3" midpipe? Is the piping on the roush kit 3" or 2.5?
Figured 450.00 for the kit I may as well replace the old midpipe if its worth it.
any suggestions???

The 8"s of intermediate pipe from the Roush kit is 3", I would say dont change your intermediate pipe out with an increased sized one unless you can afford to. OEM piping is t-409 stainless, it surface rusts but should not weaken for 10 years since its installment. The minor sound and performance improvement is not worth the cost of changing it all out if your on a strict truck budget.

Ok, thanks for the help!

If I did replace it with a 3", what would you suggest the best to replace it? Just a 3" piece of t-409 stock with reducer to the front cats?
I was hoping to just buy a new one, but I haven't found one online anywhere, neither stock size nor 3"..

That will work, but the absolute best way isto have your Y pipe outlet cut and have the 3" flanged over it to fit it properly so its dual 2.5" oing to single 3", excellent velocity flow.

Yep, I finally can afford it, being 21 and with your own mortgage and bills it holds ya back from adding to the truck

I was thinking more along the lines of cutting into the y pipe and getting a little more flow out of it than cutting after it. Have you done this one?
