Exhuast Crackle & Pop R some thing.

Hey finaly installed my super 44, It is way deeper then my Gibson! Why does my exhuast crackle and pop some times? It did it when I had Gibson exhuast, and with Magnaflow Cats still does it! So I just installed my super 44 and it also crackle & pops aslo. I know on Mark VIII I had true dual 2.5 with two original 40 flowmaster and x pipe, It never did that crackle pop sound. If I put true duals & x pipe I will probly kill low end torque? I bet it would get rid of the crackle pop. Do you think its my crome tips making that pop sound? I still have gibson square tips on my truck. Exhuast 3" in, 2.5" out dual with square tips.

k check it. that snap crackle pop is the famous flowmaster sound. having chrome tips has nothing to do with it. you go put true duals on, and youll get more sound and performance out of it, but you will have to change out the piping from the Y to the muffler to 2.5". you could either run dual super 44s with an X pipe, or get a choppier sound and run it with an H pipe

All exhausts crackle and pop, its just with the silent OEM mufflers you do not hear it. The exhaust is cold, and condensation meeting the heat of the engine makes a raspy like note. The internal design of a muffler and the amount of free flowing velocity will cause a crackle.

Sounds like rice crispies to me :P, my Magnaflow doesn't snap, crackle, or pop! That's another reason I didn't go with flowmaster.

Mine doesn't pop or crackle. It's smooth as butter. True duals with magnaflow x muffler.

Yes, it surprised me too. It's the first exhaust system I've ever owned that doesn't crackle or pop on deceleration.

If you do true duals, an X-pipe will quiet the pop/cackle sound more than an H-pipe or no crossover.

Hey Mud, is that your Raptor in your signature or is that just wishful thinking?

Yes, for a few years anyway until I can afford one with the 6.2L
