How to headers

I did the search but couldnt find exactly what i was looking for so i thought i would ask. Im thinkn bout maybe getting headers but dont know what the whole process is all about. Would i still have o2 sensors or cats. Im wanting to get very loud exhaust. I mean i had magnflow on before and didnt do what i wanted so i then just took off the muffler and still very quite. So i thought maybe headers would help me get louder

Well firstly, go with longtubes. Dynatechs to be exact, $800 for them.

Secondly, do you need to keep getting inspected? or do you have a hook up for inspection? I'd run no cats with a 2.5" true dual system and a Flowmaster if you want real loud.

If you need cats, go with Magnaflow 94306 cats, or buy the $1400 Dynatech kit which includes the LT headers, cats, and a Y pipe that you can chop to run duals.

I couldn't help but picture Borat while I was reading this.

You live up north. Because of this, you need stainless steel headers so that they will last more than 3 days. Dynatech makes the best set of LT headers right now so go with them.

I think i can get by with the inspection part but with no cats wont that make the truck run like crap because of the o2 sensors.

Headers will definitely make things louder. Which maggie muffler did you have on before? I've got 2 14" round bodies w/ 2 hi flow cats and it gets pretty loud. Like Darren said, if you have the cash, go with Dynatech, you get what you pay for. Otherwise there are several alternatives for about half the price that are decent as well. Definitely go with long tubes regardless

Also, how are you liking those tires? I just picked up those same exact ones for my truck, I'm hoping they'll last a lot longer than my Toyos did.

you dont really need cats. depending on muffler choice i would run cats. right now i have long tubes no cats and a si/do 14" magnaflow and its really loud. before the maggie i had a flowmaster super 44 in and it was loud enough that it would give you a headache goin down the highway. If you do go with long tubes youll definately need a muffler.

You dont need to, its just a suggestion if you want it really loud. The only downfall is the odor that will come out, and the raspy tone at 4500rpm+, otherwise if you are willing to buy cats i'd get some Magnaflow hi-flow cats.
