ok so i got the drivers side header on, but on the passenger side manifold there are 2 nuts that a socket wont fit on because of the angle and a wrench wont work either. has anyone else ran into this problem? its the two middle nuts on the bottom

Those two were a pain in the butt for me, as well as about 4 others on that side. I recall I had the starter off, engine jacked about an inch, flange on back was cut off and I was able to use a standard size socket and a swivel on both. You got a swivel? helped out a lot when I wasn't using a wrench.

Your using 5/16 or 8mm (same thing) header bolts correct? A ratchet wrench worked perfect for me. Do you have an ignition wrench set? Use one those if you have to

they were 3/8s bolts. but when i got the passenger header mounted up it hits the starter so you cant get the header flush to the heads at the front of the motor. they dont ****ing fit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is just great dont know what to do now

Have you tried to remove the starter and then see if it fits? I had to remove mine to get it up there and once I bolted the header all in I put the starter back in.

Yea, just calm down lol. Listen to batn68 - Its VERY tight on that side, I hope you have that AC line totally out of the way or it's not going to happen.

I removed the starter , I hate crap in the way. Be careful if you do this, the stud with the 10mm nut WILL almost always break off. An ignition wrench is needed on the backside before removal. Lots of people screw up here and end up needing a new starter, -there is NO fix when it breaks off.

I also removed the heat shields, -for these need to be customised anyway, like so if you use them -

Passenger side -

Believe me, they only seem like they don't fit on that side, but they do.

The AC line I took loose made a night and day difference. Here, in front of the header -

This can get in the way enough to be a problem, -it's easy to take loose - DON'T remove lol.

BTW- I used 8mm heads for the bolts, not sure how your going to get bigger ones to work in the tight spots.

it is very very very tight in there i tried to get the starter off while i had the headers on earlier and i couldnt get to the middle and top bolts that go through the bellhousing. i kind of got the idea maybe take the passenger motor mount loose and maybe that would give me some clearence? what do you think

If you can't even remove a starter , why the hell are you attempting headers ?? This ain't going to happen until you start listening.

Just remove the passenger side motor mount nut, jack engine up about an inch, remove starter and then install the header. I had problems even with all the above steps, it would not get at the right angle. I actually stopped, came on here asking for some more help, sat in the garage and had two beers, went back at it and it just basically fell into the right spot, after two minutes of work. It is all do able, just gotta do the steps and be patient, would I do it again...? Heck no!
