So what has been the consensus over the years for LT's. From reading and hearing "best bang for the buck" many say OBX based on price.

If money was no object, what would you buy?

I want LT's, hi-flow cats, true 2.5" duals, muffler/s, exit at bumper, and nice quiet sound until WOT.

Where are you guys getting the OBX? A few years ago I got a set from Racing Parts Depot on eBay and they sent me 2wd headers for my 4x4. They swore they sent me the right ones, and wouldn't give me a refund. I had to get PayPal envolved to get my $ back.

I'd rather not buy anything from them.

Got mine from Sparktec motorsports. They were OK to deal with.

I just need the correct parts shipped in a reasonable amount of time, it helps their prices are good too. Thanks for a point in the right direction.

Just be sure to correspond with them exactly what you want. They're pretty good in that regard.

Oh yeah, I've learned to be diligent in clarifying on what I am looking to buy for my specific application. Even going to the local parts store, if you don't there is a good chance you're getting the wrong part.

That is correct. Hell, when I buy a vehicle the salesman takes notes.

DynaTech & OBX

Since the OBX is a "knock-off", do you think the DynaTech catted mid pipe would bolt right up to the OBX header?

I'm leaning towards three different routes:

1. OBX LT's, DynaTech catted mid pipe modified into duals, two mufflers ran out the back.

2. OBX LT's, two hi-flow cats, and custom dual 2.5" through two mufflers out the back.

3. American Racing LT's, two hi-flow cats, and custom dual 2.5" through two mufflers out the back.

If you go american racing, I think you can request for a 3" collector....

Are dynatechs a ball socket type flange?

I'm pretty sure, no, just a flange and small section of pipe that will slip inside a flanged pipe or resonator; and I assume a flange gasket.

I can't find info. that says what the collector size is of the OBX, but it says it's compatible with factory exhaust, so it's probably 2.25". Even the OBX site is :o. I also am not impressed with DT's site either. Although the OBX's look beautiful, I think I'm going to go with AR, or SW and just go custom. I also so need an additional bung installed for a wide band. I'll have to give both companies a call and talk to someone. I'll let you know what I decide, when I decide.

What are running these days? Haven't you switched a few times?

George
