Planning my system: super 44s or 4" round magnaflow?

I'm trying to plan out my system for after x mas and need some advice. I plan on running a single 3" into either a flowmaster super 44 or possibly the 14419 maggy (4" round, 14" long) and then Y'ed into dual 3" tailpipes with either 3.5 or 4" tips. What muffler do you guys think would help make my system nice and deep sounding with little or no popping? I like these two also because they are around 80 bucks also, dont want ot spend much more on them or else I would go with xr-1s. I also plan on some day removing my rear cats also.

Thanks

Get the round Magnaflow, just as loud, and much deeper, clearer, and smoother sounding.

go with the super 44 unless you want a raspy sounding exhaust

It's really a matter of preference; I don't think you can go wrong either way and you will find just about an even split on recommendations for each. Flowmasters generally seem louder to me, especially at idle but also seem to have a drone in the cab which some love, others don't. There's plenty of videos out there where you can listen to each on an 3v engine and decide which you like better. Although more expensive, I think the Borla is the best. Any way you go is gonna be a vast improvement over stock.

My Flowmaster Super 44's don't snap, crackle or pop! I've had them on three consecutive F-150 trucks and haven't heard that sound. Huh!! I'm not saying nothin', I'm just sayin'...

All exhausts snap, crackle, and pop, regardless of the muffler design. That all occurs from the temperature of the pipes. My old trucks Super 44s would pop like crazy when cold, but was just aggressive & hollow when warm. My F150 pops when cold, but doesn't sound cheap & hollow when warm.

I'm going to have to vote flowmaster on this one... The deep idle is amazing with flowmasters, as is the aggressive tone!

Man, I hate these types of decisions......I guess that I'm leaning towards the maggy just because I haven't ever had them and I have had the flowmasters before. How would all 3in with the magnaflow sound with the rear cats removed since this is in serious consideration later. I've only heard 2.5 and smaller pipes with the cats removed and most everthing sounds pretty good.

3" will sound better no doubt about it, but everyone here is going to try to talk you out of it due to the loss in torque... I say go for it just for the sound!

is it a huge tq loss? I mean enough that you can feel it? Right now I just have the stock system with no muffler and people said that I would loose tq by doing that and I couldn't really feel a difference.

maybe by running a 3in y'ed system I would break even with what I'm running now so I wouldn't feel any loss in tq.
