need some opinions on exhaust.

I plan on deleting all the cats on my 02 supercrew, running a dual exhaust, into an x pipe. i just dont know what muffler to go with, i want my truck to be LOUD but keep a deep tone and rumble. What size pipe should i go with 2.25? and what would be the best muffler to use? I was thinking some type of magnaflow but idk which one to go with. Any ideas?

Yeah i think they just dead set me on that same setup.. That is exactly what i am looking for. Thank you. What difference in sound would it make, running 2.25 instead of 2.5?

2.5 will sound a little better and 2.25 will perform a little better

either will be fine indeed... Some say highway mpg is better with 2.5". Also, the power band is higher with 2.5", so getting on the interstate on ramp will be a little easier

I have 2.5" and regret it. It sounds good, but towing 5,000lbs I could feel the loss, and after getting Toyo M/T 33s I feel the loss of moving energy pretty well, with 3.73 LSD even. 2.25" would have been a better choice for me if I ever knew I could one day afford the 20" Toyos

While we're on the subject, how much of a loss (estimate in #s) are we talking about? What would be the loss associated with going from 2.5" to 2.25" with everything else the same?

I'm just curious because my truck came with 2.5" duals on it so I have no idea how much it lost from the stock setup. Wondering if it's negligible or if it's only noticeable when say, towing, like Darren mentioned.

Daily driving you won't feel hardly anything with stock tires. I keep forgetting darren has them big tires on his truck. It would NOT be worth the money, I guaranty that much! On a dyno you will see a few numbers, and a little lower power band...
