What part is this?

okk so i cut my rear cats off. and now im only running precats and notihng else.
i want to slowly replace my exhaust back.

what is the piece of pipe that usuallly runs right out the back of the cats?


kinda looks like a y?

is it a y pipe?

and how much would it cost

it is a y-pipe but not sure how much it would cost. you could just do true duals instead...

a plain ol' Y-pipe will run you around $30 or so. If you decide to go with true duals, you'll want to invest in an X-pipe ($50 and up). You'll want the X-pipe to equalize the exhaust pressure coming from the engine. I believe that some muffler shops will build you a y-pipe or x-pipe on the spot if you need it. Not sure how much they'll charge you though. Just my $0.02

Your ok with a single exhaust, but true duals will rumble better, and 2.25" true duals X piped will perform well.
