1998 5.4 cheap intake mods?

i have a 1998 F150 4x4 with the 5.4, i put a K&N air filter on it and im wantin to do more cheaply if possible. i was specifically wondering if anyone had removed the curved plastic piece that attaches to the throttle body for somthing more efficient. thanks alot

i havent heard of anyone replacing the piece ur talking about, but the link below shows how you can modify it for better airflow. baisicly theres a silencer core in that piece that can be removed. the link has a good write up and explains everything u need to know

ya from my understanding if you remove the silencer core and do the gotts mod it flows better then most intakes, only one was tested to flow better which is the airforce one from troyer performance.

but id personally id rather keep the $262

heres a link to someone who did it
