LT's and torque

This is a dumb question? pacesetter long tube headers vs full length headers? Guessin they're different since full lengths are cheaper than LT's, but was wondering if the LT's would be alot better or about the same for low end torque?

I think you may have confused yourself or posted wrong info:

LONG TUBES ARE FULL LENGTH unless you meant equal length shorties...

Long tube/Full length headers are the best way to go for most people yet many choose to buy shorties because they are cheaper...

...lol
the price i found confused me, but thats what i thought. $306....didn't know i could get a set of LT's tht cheap! I think i'm fixing to put full exhaust on my truck. If i cut the cats out and get a programmer, can i program the truck to run with deleted cats? I mean not run like ****?

if you remove the cats you won't be smog legal...

also a 2.5 inch dual exhaust is as large as you want it to go, it is recomended you get a tune to take advantage of the full exhaust system upgrade but you can do the gotts exhaust mod and it should take care of the CEL.

several people run the pacesetters, both un coated and coated, I picked a set of stainless steel long tubes (with mid pipes) for $475...

which motor do you have? if you have the 5.4 then you should be fine, if you have the 4.6 then you may have some clearance issues

also the low end driveability is increased with the long tubes, built54 had some results he posted that showed the difference between the shorties and the long tubes...

...I'm in TN, Not worried about smog junk. There isn't any laws like that.
I just don't want it to run like crap and i don't want my check engine light on.
I have a 4.6 liter. I found some for a 98 xlt f150 4.6Vin W.
I have a 97 xlt f150 vin w. Those should fit mine shouldn't they.
What do i coat them with? Can i use high temp paint?
That set was $306. whats the advantages of painting them?

Don't buy headers unless they are stainless or if mild steal be chromed preferably ceramic coated.

Either install high flow cats, or you can turn off your rear 02 sensors with a tune.

painting them will make them last a lil' longer but not much if you live in an area of high rust...

the best thing if they aren't stainless is to have them powder coated or jet hot coated

alright cool....I was just thinkin about pacesetter powder coated LT's, delete rear cats, a y-pipe, and then a muffler i haven't decided but i don't really want to spend a whole lot on a catback system. I think i'll just replace the oem muffler with either a strait-pipe or some kind of magnaflow maybe, but open to suggestions if anyone knows or has opinions on this.

I don't want it to be extremely loud. I want a low rumble. I just basically want to free the exhaust up some, get some trq, and give it a lil more aggressive sound.
