do you still have the front cats? i could be wrong but i believe 94106 will be a lil quieter but not a whole lot. however if you made it down valley mills drive on sat night and didnt get stopped Arlington shouldn't bother you

haha yeah i had a buddy at tstc with open LT's on a 488 big block. and i havent had emissions any where in tx before. so i believe it would be mostly just sound. and im sure Darren or MGD will be able to tell you more about how the sound would be affected.

oh and dont drive on the sidewalk at mcc, or tstc,... they seem to not like that, havent tried baylor yet,... maybe on the next trip home.

I removed all four factory cats for 2 hi flows on my old truck. I didn't notice a ton of difference really with that, it was a little more throaty but not too noticeable to anyone else but me. I am not sure what it would do to the sound since you already removed the back two.

If you are going to an emissions county, thats the only case I would be worried in, or if you cannot get inspected for the lack of cats in your model year. What mufflers are you running? I would say if you keep it low and light foot in town you will be fine. Front cats only in the 97 - 03 is louder than running 2 hi-flow cats. In 04 - 05 its more equivalent to running 94006 hi-flows. Either way, I dont think it will tone you down too much adding hi-flows in the rear. The 94306 cats possibly could but it will mostly kill the low rpm volume.

You should have no problem using two high flows in place of the four...

Take out the name of the muffler shop you used please... We don't want our hook ups getting fined and shut down.

darren, how is it that someone can pass emissions with only 2 high flows, but not with just the two front cats?? is it the sniffer test that would cause a fail? or just visual or what? i live in an emissions county in texas but i know for a fact that 2 high flows will pass inspection. the only reason i'de get highflows would be for sound.. but if i can achieve that sound with just the front cats and pass i'de be very happy.

thanks

You are required by law to run a muffler, even in non emission testing zones. A turbo can substitute for a muffler.

You don't even have to have cats to pass the sniffer(if your truck is properly tuned up).

Just cut off the back two cats and see if you like the sound.
