My bullet is a 2.5" and I just 45'd it in front of the wheel with a 4" tip. 2.5" is working fine for me.

I did it myself on my 99' 5.4. i liked it for a week because i had the loudest truck in town. but i realized it was noise, it had no tone. and i was getting single digit mpg. So i went out and bought a Thrush Welded Series muffler from Autozone. 40 bucks and i love it. nice and deep. Save yourself, just buy a muffler bud.

We should really have a sticky about exhuast gas principals and the truth about backpressure. I think that would cut out a lot misinformation from the old school carb guys... my dad is one of those lol.

It didn't, but I can guarantee he was 'foot in the pedal' to hear the sound.

I thought he was saying that he just put a pipe in and had no muffler. The bullet won't hurt anything.

leaving it no muffler aint gonna hurt nothing, but it sounds great. thats how my setup is. im very biased towards straight pipes but i gotta agree the bullets sound good. if i ever put a muffler back on it'll be true dual bullets with 4 stock cats ripped out for 2 high flows. btw runnin straights on my truck, after ripping out a flowmaster, actually improved my low end slightly.

X2. I hate the popping sound of straight pipes and the Bullet has none whatsoever. Just my .02

i agree i took on driving away under load but i cant find it... i just changed my setup tonight so ill post that up, basically 3in single out the pass side in front of tire. did it for 50 bucks and it sounds sick.

as for the raspyness, i like that sound. reminds me of a stang with slp loudmouths and longtubes, which is exactly what id run if i had a cobra... the mod motors are inherently raspy compared to a pushrod motor, i kinda like it... and techhnically its not straight, i still have all four cats...

also, kepp in mind these were taken with a garbage camera...

i dunno i did it cuz it was cheap, i like the sound, like i said it only pops when in park or neutral, not when in gear and driving. If I ever get un-cheap i may do a lightning style setup with no cats, but for now its fine. im gonna do a small diy to help out others who are on a budget. i may throw in a glasspack but not yet. i mean it cost me 50 bucks and a trip to pepboys so...
