How do I clean AF1 CAI filter

Can anyone tell me procedure for PROPER cleaning of my filter. I guess my big question is do I need to or should I purchase a "kit",or can I do it with things I probably have around the garage already???

s&b made the filters for af1. Make sure if you want to keep it blue you get the blue oil.

If you use the red oil it won't hurt it, S&B sent me the wrong oil but they said it won't hurt it, just make it red.

Be very careful not to overoil it, and let it sit for a while after you oil it before reinstalling, or you may foul the MAF with excess oil.

Or did what I did with my AF1 and get the AEM Paper Filter, same flow, and no chance of mucking up your MAF with oil. Also it makes me feel safer about not having particles make it through oiled filters.

If you wouldn't mind...what was the part # for the AEM filter that does not need oiling. I was in the process of changing out my AF1 for this very reason.

Thank You

The aem filter wont flow quite as well as the af1 but it will filter a little better. The flow difference wont be enough to be noticeable. The main reason i went with the aem intake on my truck was the filter and how much easier it was to clean and not having to worry about oiling it.

I'm like 90% sure it was 21-203DK.,, And don't worry about losing any flow, I did crap loads on research on this and from what I've seen, the AEM Dry filter actually flows better then the oil filters. The only one that beat it was the K&N but only for a short period of time. Plus the worst part of an oil filter is that once it's dirty it stops catching dirt. I'm sure there's a lot of guys on here that will disagree with me, but I see no need to have an oil filter unless I was maybe doing a blower setup where the flow was actually that much higher.

Not true. If it's blocked with dirt how will more dirt pass through? Not gonna happen. If anything it will decrease airflow slightly by catching even more.
