Decision Time!! Please help

Hi all, first post but have a few months following along. My decision is between buying Magnaflow #16523 catback kit and hanging it myself, or ordering individual parts Magnaflow #12198 muffler, tips 35204 and taking it to a shop to be welded in. I have installed a flowmaster system on my 93 stang with true duals and had no problems. Price on the kit is $441.74 with my free labor. Would love some input on which you all think is the best way to go. Also, on the si/do muffler, the input is 3 inches...would I need a y pipe to convert from the stock 2.5 to 3 inch pipe?

Thanks!

I believe you would be able to get off MUCH cheaper ordering the parts separately from eBay or www.performancepeddler.com (use code clubgp) and having your pipes run by a shop than ordering that $450 kit!

Just checked, those parts are $137 shipped for everything from performancepeddler.com.

If you're going to run them out side by side like in that kit, I couldn't imagine pipe and labor being more than $150-$200 MAX.

most of the shops around here in the central florida area charge about $350 for a true dual setup (this includes mufflers). So i would suggest checking out a few exhaust shops that are close to you. You might save a few hundred bucks.

Thanks guys, I am kinda leaning towards having a shop do it. I get the feeling they get pissed when you walk in with your own parts and try to make it up by jacking up the labor.

Buy your parts, have the shop fabricate it, and enjoy the extra $150 you saved.
