Best Muffler For My F150??? Help!

I have a 99 f150 5.4L V8 And it sounded pretty good but my friend had the great Idea of cutting the tips of my mufflers and dump them straight down it was suppose to make it louder but for some reason it got way quieter... So now i dont know what to do Should I get two glass Packs? or two 40 series Flowmasters? Or is a Dual in dual out Super 40 flowmaster good? I dont want to hurt my engine or gas mileage I would rather improve it also after I decide on what muffler should I just dump it straight down or connect the tips again? any help is greatly appreciated thanks!

Get it put back the way it was if you were satisfied with it.. You did save the pipes correct? Dumping only makes it louder inside, quieter outside.

Do you want more volume from it? What mufflers are you currently running?

Well dual talpipes does not come stock. I would put them back on, and can you give more specs about your mufflers? Such as shape, finish, any markings and whats the longitude length of them?

Org. 40 is the best sounding Flowmaster ever made IMO.

Do you like the sound of any magnaflow or borla setups? I recommend one of them, but your preference is the key...

The Super 40 sounds fairly decent, but the DI/DO doesn't, go with seperate mufflers, much better sound. The original 40s I agree sound better, the Super 44 also does. They're 13" long chambered mufflers so they'll rumble alot better for ya. Give the Magnaflow Magnapacks a listen and see if that doesn't influence your decision some, hopefully it does.
