Why do the Dodges Sound so good?
#17
It's true tho. This weekend since friday, I have been in Delaware for the Race. Almost 80% of the trucks have duals on them. The dodges rule the road. I heard my first Roush off Road in person today, still no contest. Dodge wins. The only truck I have ever heard that sounds better is 08 Fx4's and look at the cost involved. Magnapack AND hiflows.

I don't think so. I just don't think the dodge sounds good. They sound like something is wrong under the hood to me. Properly tuned and a half way decent exhaust ran makes the modular Fords king. End of story, plus you haven't heard my ROR.
Besides, crappy dodges get what, about 8mpg? Hemi that.

The Hemi engine does sound very good IMO with just a catback addition. I heard Josiah's truck in person and must say that his truck sound better than any Hemi I've heard (cut rear cats and flow 10 series). I personally like the Roush Offroad on the 5.4 3V better than the Hemi as well, although it is too quiet.
My buddy has a chipped 24V Cummins with a straight pipe and it sounds ridiculously mean.

Did you do the cat work all at once? Or did you run the rear cats out on the ROR then get hi-flows later?

We have a customer here at the shop that has the best sounding truck I have ever heard. However he has a 5.7 with a huge cam, 6.1 injectors and heads with over sized valves, built bottom end with 11:1 compresson etc etc. Truck isnt near as fast as my truck unless he runs a 120 shot but it still scoots real good. He is 4x4 and big tires and 4 door though.
Anway he has shortie equal length headers, 1 cat, and a si/do flowmaster (maybe a 40?) and that truck sounds mean as all hell. Real deep and loud.

I had all of the cat work done at the same time. The shop removed all 4 stock cats and then I had the fronts replaced with the 94106 and nothing was put in place of the rears. I had the ROR already on the truck
